Knotorious Beta Reader Application

Thank you for being interested in joining Shasta's beta readers team! Knotorious Omega is the latest book by Shasta de Leon. It is a stand-alone omegaverse novel with high stakes, push-and-pull romance, all in stunning backdrops across the world.

I have decided to open up some more spots on my beta reader team. I have readers who have been with me since my debut, Ondine Vol. 1, and who will continue to be on the team, so I hope that these additional readers chosen for Knotorious, will also stay with me through my future works. My betas are trusted readers who understand the omegaverse and romance genres, and are readers of darker themes. They know my work, voice, and vision. Most importantly, they give me insight into a reader’s experience, and provide invaluable feedback.

Application

This is entirely a volunteer position. I do offer gifts to my beta readers, but that’s only when I’m able. Often you will be asked to read within a small window of time, with a short (a week or so) notice. I take a lot of the feedback my beta’s give me and use it for the final product, so I take this role seriously. This is not a request for copyediting or proofreading. As a beta reader, you will be reading an uncorrected manuscript, so if reading past spelling or grammar mistakes is difficult, there are spots open on my ARC team. Beta reading is for reader feedback, giving reader’s reactions, and identifying what is working and what may need to be addressed with the plot, characters, and readability of the text, prior to publication. Beta readers catch inconsistencies as well. It’s also a chance for me to see what grips readers so I can adjust my marketing to fit that.
